2025 Best Trail Riding area is…
Quehanna Wild Area
Initially we were a bit put off by long loops near Yellowsnake Campground at Quehanna, and worried about very rocky footing. This year we began going to the far corner of the area, parking near the historic airfield on Hoover Road. There are a number of loop options there.
Surprisingly, most of the trails we have ridden are not excessively rocky, although we haven’t been out on the trails that descend into hollows to the far north of Quehanna.
If you haven’t made it there, check out our riding guide. It’s about an hour from State College, and most of it is an easy drive. We think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by what you find!
